Established March 25, 1989, Rafter 6B Ranch was founded on the marriage of Dave Bugenig to Chris Fanony McLemore. This union brought together Dave's sons Corey and Charlie, as well as Chris' daughter Sarah and son Pete. Under construction since 1989, Rafter 6B Ranch has evolved from a five acre star-thistle, barbed wire property to a beautiful full service horse facility.

The Ranch features a main barn with seven stalls, tack room, feed room, and a covered riding arena. In close proximity to the main barn are two out barns that house 17 stalls and paddocks. The facility also features two large outdoor riding arenas, a covered round pen, turn-out pastures and is close to Hidden Falls riding trails.

The mission of Rafter 6B Ranch is to provide quality training for horse and rider in the areas of performance show horses, trail horses and versatility ranch horses. Traditional and modern techniques are utilized in the program. The Rafter 6B is committed to the humane treatment of all animals and emphasizes every aspect of safety.

Chris trains horses. She has been around horses all of her life and has been showing and training for 38 years. Chris has utilized a variety of traditional methods throughout her tenure as a trainer and is always eager to keep current and learn new practices.

As an instructor of horsemanship, colt starting, intermediate and advanced classes of horse training, Chris taught classes for Sierra College in Rocklin , California for twenty-six years. Her experience as a successful and popular instructor has given her the ability to work with students of all ages and ranges of aptitude in evaluating their needs and developing a teaching style tailored to the individual and their horse.

Dave is the backbone of the ranch in terms of maintenance and care. In constant need of maintenance, the ranch keeps him busy with pasture care, manure removal, fence repair, feeding horses and cattle, arena grooming, irrigation repair, to name a few. He enjoys riding when a spare moment arises; he loves to rope the big loop style. Dave is employed full time with Placer County Dept. of Ag. as a Wildlife Specialist.

Always willing to help those in need of advancing their horse or their personal horsemanship skills, the Rafter 6B Ranch doors are always open.
